After returning for a second year, the Girls Ultimate Team is ready to grow. Last year was the team’s first year of existence. In their first game of the season at the Randolph Campus on Historic Lang Field, the team defeated Cretin-Derham Hall with a final score of 10-3.

Senior and captain Elea Besse, who started playing ultimate frisbee last year, looks forward to improving as a team.

“It’s super fun to have all the girls back from last year come back and remember their strengths from last year. And to continually build that team chemistry with them makes playing games and scrimmaging more fast pace and more competitive. But having new players is always fun too. Seeing them learn a new sport that takes all the positive energy and competitiveness from other sports makes me realize that’s why I join ultimate,” Besse said.

For her second year, junior and captain Libby Cohen feels ambitious for the season after this win.

“Our coaches always tell us that the way we’re going to win is to have fun. And I think we did that last night as we put forth our best effort, but we also had a lot of fun, and it really showed and we pulled through with a win,” she said.
