There was no trophy, but the two days in Atlanta for the NAQT tournament, May 22-24, were filled with hunting for answers and scavenging for items. The team went 4-6 in pool play, missing the playoffs, then played five more games in the consolation bracket. Consolation rounds don’t count toward a team’s overall point standing. Captains William Hanna and Murray Goff played with senior Louis Frtazke and sophomore De-An Chen.
“Once we were in consolation rounds,” coach Kate Lockwood said, “all the teams got a little goofy. We played one round in which the coaches played with the teams, and one in which [a friend of the team] played.”
Since Saturday morning was unscheduled, the team chose to visit the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and do the scavenger hunt.
