FRONT LAWN FESTIVITIES. With weather allowing, Commencement is held on the front lawn, outside of Old Main. Interim prinicpal Ken Jaffe said that commencement “... recognizes seniors while simultaneously recognizing all the support families and faculty gave seniors in their journey.”

CLOSING THE CHAPTER. Commencement marks the end of high school, and speakers should give graduates a message that celebrates their accomplishments while setting them up for the future.

Commencement speakers should motivate seniors to be lifelong learners, while recognizing the hard work behind their diplomas.
The 2020 Commencement moved inside the Huss Auditorium due to bad weather. Their families were situated across campus at various spaces were set up to live stream the ceremony.

Commencement takes on a new look as COVID-19 protocols shift

Graduation will happen on June 6 at 4 p.m. on the North Lawn.
Social distancing for all seating was in place in 2020, but this year it will be by special request. Commencement 2021 will take place on the front lawn (with a rain plan of Huss) on June 6 at 4 p.m.

As announced on Apr. 16 by Head of School Brynn Roberts, the 2018 Commencement will take place at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts in downtown St. Paul.  As much as our community values and appreciates the Huss Center, we wanted to ensure we had sufficient seating to accommodate all the friends who are eager to watch the class of 2018 receive their diplomas, Roberts said.
