Dean emphasizes importance of lunch remaining in lunch room

Dean+emphasizes+importance+of+lunch+remaining+in+lunch+room

Lines have been a notable problem this year, as both early lunch and late lunch navigate a series of problems with long lines, budging, and food spilling out into other spaces. On Feb. 12, Dean of Students Stacy Tepp sent a reminder to students that dishes and food needs to stay in the lunch room or at the long tables across from the English Commons just outside the lunch room. Seniors having food delivered can eat in lower Schilling. Students in the building eating meals after school can eat in the Huss lobby, but only at that time of day.

Tepp cited the number of dishes not being returned to the lunch room and how this has reduced the Taher staff’s ability to rewash and reuse plates, glasses and silverware between lunch periods. Further, the food waste in the building causes a number of problems with cleanliness in the building.

Teachers have been asked to enforce the expectation while the administration, C3, and Taher work to find a solution.
