Sophomore Lexi Hilton and senior captain Sela Patterson reflect on last season, “all of our hard work and the handful of experienced seniors really helped the team win conference last year,” Hilton said.

Nordic’s 2012-2013 season went very well, recounted senior captain Sela Patterson. “The girl’s team had a great season, winning conference championships and sending Ellen McCarthy [‘15] to state,” Patterson said. While graduating the many seniors who did so well last year could hurt the team, Patterson kept hopes high for the coming season. “We lost a lot of good seniors last year, and we have a pretty young team this year, but everyone just has so much potential,” Patterson continued. “It will be really exciting to see the growth and improvement.”

Freshman Barbara Bathke agreed: “Last year, we lost a lot of seniors so this year we have a younger team. There are a lot of strong skiers though, even in the Middle School. We are all very committed to the sport and that shows in all of our races.”

Girl’s Cross Country’s success early in the year could also contribute to a strong season for Nordic, as many of the cross country runners are transitioning to Nordic as the cross country season ends.

“All of our hard work and the handful of experienced seniors really helped the team win conference last year,” sophomore Lexi Hilton said.
