Sophomore Angel Smaller and senior captain Aidan Arnold hope for a strong season, “We are looking to make one last run in the Tri- Metro, as this is our last year in the conference” Smaller said.

The season never really ends for the Spartan boys basketball team. Throughout the offseason, they meet for optional workout sessions and open gyms, intensifying as the season draws near. “Especially now that the fall sports seasons are winding down, [workouts] give us a few weeks to really get the guys together and create a real team environment… it helps to create a tight group of guys which is really fun to experience,” senior captain Harrisen Egly said.

“We are excited to welcome Joel Hanson, father of sophomore Kent Hanson, as our new assistant,” senior captain Aidan Arnold said.

Despite losing several key senior players from last year’s team, including both captains, the team intends to take lineup changes in stride. According to junior power forward Luke Bishop, “We have a rotating starting lineup, meaning the starters change each game. So some guys started some games last year in order to develop their skills for this year.”
