ECHO. Sophomore Echo Dayton started going by Echo in 7th grade, a name that originated from her friends. My friends started calling me Echo because a lot of the time if I’m with a group of friends and zone out, I’ll just repeat whatever other people around me are saying. The only reason that people wouldn’t sign it is because they wouldn’t wear crop tops, so it wouldn’t apply to them,” Zhu said.
