Earth Week is a week-long observation period dedicated to raising environmental awareness and encouraging action. From food waste minimization competition to Sustainability Fair, starting from Earth Day on Monday, USC and their sustainable development committee developed a week long of activities for students to participate in and promote sustainability.

Climate change is spurred on by the increasing carbon emissions into the atmosphere each year from many different sectors of business. The average carbon dioxide in the atmosphere hit a new record of 419.3 parts per million globally in 2023, and the atmospheric carbon dioxide is currently more than 50% higher than it was before the industrial revolution. Recognizing and learning about the increase in greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere is the first step towards building a sustainable planet.
