Dave’s Hot Chicken is a new chain of hot fried chicken restaurants that has recently grown throughout the Twin Cities. The latest addition to the franchise is in Highland, St. Paul, which coincidentally is nearby of SPA. Dave’s Hot Chicken was initially created in Los Angeles by Armenian-American friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganeshyan, Tommy Rubenyan and Gary Rubenyan. The restaurant was made because the group noticed how much Americans like fried chicken, especially spicy fried chicken, and saw a growing demand for spicy chicken in their area of Los Angeles. Their chain has now spread all over America.

The up-and-coming chain’s spicy fried chicken comes in different levels of spiciness and various formats, such as chicken tenders or a chicken sandwich. Their chicken goes from no spice (the lowest level) all the way up to reaper, which comes with a warning to anybody who orders it because of how spicy it is. The medium spice level on the chicken is a great place to start for a first order since it is right in the middle of all the different spice levels. Then, choose between a chicken sandwich with pickles and white bread or just simple, tasty chicken tenders. For drinks, choose between delicious shakes and classic sodas.

The location in Highland Park also has a unique exterior and interior design. The design and layout of the building is very interesting and eye-catching. Its outside is covered with murals in multiple colors and styles. The interior is also marked with many murals, this time on the restaurant’s wall, representing the restaurant chain’s history. The seating inside is also nice, with about a dozen clean and organized tables for people to sit and eat at. If people do not desire to eat inside the restaurant, there is also the option to order takeout.

Pricing-wise, Dave’s Hot Chicken is relatively standard. A chicken sandwich and fries cost $14, and chicken tenders with fries cost $13. For drinks, sodas cost $3, and shakes cost $5.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is a great new addition to the Highland neighborhood that serves the area great spicy fried chicken and drinks. Check it out, and be pleasantly surprised.
