SPA Girls Basketball defeats Breck in barn burner
“The game was nerve-wracking,” Sophomore Jane Christakos said
In a high-stress game, with lots of fouls and intensity, the SPA girls varsity basketball team pulled through for a win against The Breck School. Trailing early on in the game, SPA had to pull through to come back against an extremely aggressive Breck team. After a SPA foul late in the game, Breck made both their free throws and tied the score. With just a few seconds left, 8th grader Kennedy Hernodon was fouled. She missed her first free throw but got a re-take because of a Breck player taunting her. She made her next two free throws to clinch the win 55-53.
