Teacher tips for math and science exams

With final exams less than two weeks away, many students have started the long process of studying. Particularly with math and science exams, students begin to feel stress due to the higher amount of memorization usually required for these exams. Yet teachers know stress has begun to increase and many recommend to lower this stress, students should start studying early.

“The best way to prepare for a science exam is to start early and do a little bit each day,” US science teacher Christine Schwichtenberg said.

US math teacher Jim McVeety suggests a similar process in studying for math exams.

“Start early. Do all the review problems, checking your answers,” he said.

But McVeety also recommends students take some time for themselves during these stressful weeks.

“[Make] sure you build in good food, good sleep and some playtime,” McVeety said.
