“I think this will be an eventful year with a lot more going on, and a lot that we’ll be a part of, and I can’t wait to see what happens,” said senior Ellie Brass in anticipation of the exciting events of senior year.

Starting her senior year, Ellie Brass has a lot of things she is looking forward to.

First, Ellie anticipates her senior speech, and helping with other people’s.

“I’m looking forward to a lot such as getting my speech done, and also doing senior speech intros,” she said.

Ellie will give her senior speech on Sept. 16 in the Huss Center.

If the excitement of her speech isn’t enough, Ellie’s favorite holiday is fast-approaching.

“I always look forward to Halloween because I get to dress up like my favorite comic book characters. Or Valentine’s Day even though I don’t have anyone to celebrate it with,” Brass said.

Halloween opens up exciting possibilities for her to combine her appreciation for the hair-raising holiday with her love of comics.

“I’m thinking about dressing up as a gender-bent Madder Red. He’s from this one graphic novel I like called Bedlam,” Brass said.

Brass’s favorite comics are Bedlam and the New-52 Suicide Squad (which is the modern 52-issue continuation of the series that started in the late fifties.)

“When I have the time I like to read graphic novels. Although I like a good story, I especially like the addition of artwork. There’s some pretty darn crazy aesthetics out there,” the senior said.

Brass also looks forward to studying chemistry, physics, math, or engineering in college.

I’m also hoping/looking forward to any crazy shenanigans that might go down.
