Somalis + Minnesota exhibit expresses refugee experience

The History of Refugee Communities in Minnesota class attended the "Somalis + Minnesota" exhibit at the MN History Center to start their next unit on Somali refugees.
On Sept. 10, students from the History of Refugee Communities in Minnesota class took a field trip to the Forced From Home Exhibit in Minneapolis which puts visitors in the shoes of global refugees. “It was hard to only pick five things. I thought it was an informative experience to be able to engage in the journey many refugees undertake,” senior Kenzie Giese said. The exhibit is open through the Sept. 16.

Pangea World Theater's new play, 5 weeks, tells the story of a nation's loss through the devastation and displacement that individual families - Hindu, Muslim, and Parsi - experienced after 1947 India-Pakistan partition and are still feeling today.
