Volleyball serves up a high-energy, warmup playlist

Following a tough loss to Providence Academy on Saturday, Volleyball’s focus shifts onto the end of the season. After a below-average start to the season, they have fought back and currently have a 4-7 record, hoping to improve with only a few games left before sections. Their warm-up playlist helps keep them motivated and hopeful throughout the season as they prepare for each game.

The playlist starts off with some rap classics, including “All Of The Lights” by Kanye and “Nonstop” by Drake. Both upbeat songs help get the blood pumping. It has other songs like “Laugh Now Cry Later” by Drake Featuring Lil Durk and “Fire Burning” by Sean Kingston that help keep the energy high throughout the warmups.

Captain Solvej Eversoll said, “I think our warm-up playlist is good but a lot of songs we wanted were not school appropriate so that was disappointing. “The Crown” is my favorite song on it and it always comes on when we start hitting so it gets us all hype.” “The Crown” by Zayde Wolf starts slow with a high tempo beat, building up to an epic beat drop which makes the song so fun and hype.

The playlist uses a variety of genres, including Latino, hip hop, and pop songs to create an expansive mix that everyone can relate to and enjoy. It even uses some throwback songs such as Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes featuring Adam Lavine, that everyone knows and remembers to add nostalgia to the playlist.

Volleyball takes on rivals Breck at home on Tuesday at 7.00 p.m.
