Thrust into the peak of standardized testing season and the final quarter of the year, it’s easy to get lost in the stress of schoolwork. In honor of National Pet Day, sit back and enjoy these submitted photos of students’ furry friends.

Sophomore Weston Lombard’s cat, Borat, is not like other cats. “He loves to get wet so whenever we turn the sink on he jumps into it and gets himself soaked every time, and he isn’t scared of our dog so whenever the dog gets too close he starts to box [him]!” Lombard said.

“Basil is a cute, attention seeking walrus,” said junior Miriam Tibbetts.

“I literally smile every day to go home because I know he’s there,” said senior Kaylee Wendlandt of her cat Esmial.

Upon being asked how to describe her beloved cat Sheldon, senior Eva Zaydman settled on the following: “He’s a cross between Kate Upton and Joe Biden. A true sensation,” she said.

“Both my cats inhibit my work to annoying degrees, but they’re too cute to bother moving,” said junior Jane Jackson of her cats Momo and Alyss.
