The weekend provides a much needed time to destress and to take time to prepare for the next week of school. However, finding activities to do other than catching up on homework can be a little bit puzzling.
Here are some ideas that work for me when getting ready for another week of school and trying to have a reset:
1. Sleeping well. This is much easier said than done, however the results are really evident, especially when the day has been spent being productive.
2. Taking time to be off of my phone. I typically do this from the time I wake up until about noon. I have a bad habit of spending too much time on my phone when I want to relax. While some time spent scrolling can help to chill out, it’s good to spend some time being productive before just relaxing.
3. Go on a morning walk. It’s really hard to find time to get outside and just enjoy it during the week. I find a quick thirty minutes around my neighborhood makes me feel refreshed and ready to prepare for the week.
4. Do some stretching. Calming physical activity can be hard to work in during the week. While finding time to go to the gym can be extremely helpful, I find that stretching, or even yoga, can help me get some energy out while still calming me down.
5. Finishing assignments. This is definitely an evident one, but still integral. Getting all the homework due on Monday or Tuesday finished on a weekend ends up feeling super fulfilling when there’s no scramble to finish it in the middle of the night to the morning.
These tips work for me and I hope you can implement them into your weekend routine.
