The boys and girls Alpine teams finished up their conference schedule Jan. 31 with another meet at Buck Hill Ski course. The teams both finished strong with skiers finishing in the top 3. For the girls, junior Bailey Donovan capped off her conference season with a second place finish overall. SPA also had three other girls finish in the top 10, ninth Grader Julia Scott finished eighth, junior Sammy Ries finished ninth, and junior Jenny Sogin finished in tenth. This strong showing at the top propelled the girls team to a second place finish overall. On the boys side, senior Tom Patterson finished the last race of hi career at Buck Hill with a third place finish in conference. The boys team also had sophomore Samuel Steinhacker place ninth and senior Webster Lehmann finish in 14th. The boys team finished fourth overall in the conference. The next race for the Alpine team will be the section meet Feb 8 at Wild Mountain.

Peter Blanchfield, class of 2018, is this year’s RubicOnline Opinions Editor.  Outside of publications he plays on St. Paul Academy and Summit School’s varsity basketball and football teams.
