Although winter might seem dull and cold after the holidays, students can look forward to the new Winter Formal dance on Jan. 11. In hopes of obtaining an opening at the Town and Country Club venue, Students Activities Committee has moved the Valentine’s Dance to earlier in the year. The dance will have winter wonderland theme, which may include balloons, snowflakes, and lights. “We’re working very hard on the decorations this year,” SAC member junior Sheila Sullivan said.

Sullivan also mentioned that students seemed to prefer the Town and Country Club to Wabasha Street Caves, where dances have been held in previous years. The Winter Formal will continue to have semi-formal attire. “I just want to see how it turns out,” Sullivan said. “I think it’ll be really pretty.”

SAC co-president senior Claire Foussard also noted that moving a variation of the Valentine’s Dance to January also opened up time for another new dance, the Sadie Hawkins one, in February.
