THE WET LOOK. Sophomores Addy Peterson and Cadence Piper pose together in rainy school spirit.
The Student Activities Committee had a big day planned for Friday. They thought they’d continue the spirited traditions of storming the field as the homecoming carnival, hosted by the Parent Association, continued on.
Unfortunately, the whole after-school homecoming celebration, including storming the field, the carnival, and the soccer game against St. Agnes, was cut short or cancelled due to heavy rain.
Every year, decked out in blue and gold school merch, students charge down the hill facing Lang field, ending at the soccer stands before the varsity soccer game begins. This is done to intimidate the opposing team. One of the Spartan mascots, which this year are seniors Peter Ostrem and Patrick Wall, leads the mass of students in the sprint. This year? The hill was too wet to be safe.
Homecoming festivities will continue Saturday evening with the dance.
