This is Good For You’s final column of the 2025-2026 year of Rubicon, and my final column as your columnist. I am eternally grateful for getting to share information with the greater school community in simple and small ways this column has allowed learning and growth. Writing this column has taught me the power of small changes should not be underestimated.
Much of what I’ve written for Good For You has been small scale health changes to make or ideas to implement. I started with the impression that there was very little I could do to influence any students’ health, or even my own. However, through the research I have been able to do this year, I have discovered that the small things are what matter.
Whether it be finding new ways to get outside, or remembering the importance of hydration, these miniature reminders truly make a difference.
While my time with this column ends after this year, I sincerely hope that if any reader has stumbled upon a piece I have written for “Good for You” they will be able to take one of those lessons with them. Simple small ways to improve health should not be underestimated or not taken seriously.
