Moona Moono is a coffee and retail store in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. They sell a wide variety of art supplies and guides, Asian art, ceramics, themed merchandise and fun trinkets. Additionally, they are known for their trendy flavored matcha and coffee beverages. Their drink menu has many unique offerings, like their Miso Brown Sugar, Red Bean and Black Sesame lattes, as well as many other various Asian cuisine-inspired treats.
Sophomore Mae LaChance shared some of her experience at Moona Moono last week. The first thing that caught her eye was a collection of bags and other merchandise with fish embroidered on the outsides. “They also had a very fun sock section,” she said.
LaChance was also drawn to the collectible blind boxes in the back of the store. Over the last one or two years, collectible blind boxes – such as Smiskis, Labubus and Sonny Angels – have trended on social media. Another attraction of the store is the separate work area that’s secluded from the rest of the store, for people who may want a more private place to work, eat or socialize.
LaChance mentioned that the customer service at Moona Moono was stellar. “When you go to check out, they’re super sweet, they like to joke around with you, which is very fun,” she said. Although she loved the things she saw and purchased, she mentioned that they were a little pricey because it was a small business. Regardless of this, she absolutely plans to visit them again.
In addition to their in-person storefront, they have an online site that is a great representation of their storefront. It is a bit hard to navigate due to its lack of dropdown menus and a search bar, leaving the viewer to scroll until they find what they’re looking for. However, a very interesting section was the area with event posters. Each digital poster is individual and colorful, listing the name, date and time of upcoming events.
Moona Moono is a great stop for anyone looking for trendy yet unique finds.
