The Nook in St. Paul is considered to be a neighborhood favorite among many residents of the Highland neighborhood. Located on 492 Hamline Avenue, The Nook is a small burger joint that has garnered quite a reputation. Opening in 1938, The Nook is one of the oldest continuously running restaurants in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. For all the years it has been open, The Nook always seems to have gotten people to come inside their doors to enjoy a burger, a drink, and socialize.

The restaurant is currently owned by Ted Casper and Mike Runyon who bought The Nook in 2000 and have owned it ever since. The menu there is simple, and has everything someone would need at a burger restaurant without complicating everything. On the menu, people can choose between different types of burgers, appetizers, sausages, soups, drinks and many daily or weekly specials. With the price of burgers and sandwiches generally ranging from $10-17 and appetizers being around $10, the food here is relatively cheap.

The food there is very good and came out in about eight or nine minutes. The feeling and atmosphere of the restaurant itself was also very nice. With lots of antique posters and paintings hung all around the walls, the restaurant has a unique vintage and cozy feeling to it. Being inside the restaurant itself people can see others socializing and interacting with each other while eating, making it seem like a small community.

The Nook is a great burger joint that has become a community staple. Going there, expect to enjoy well-priced food and drinks and enjoy the many small things inside the restaurant that make it special and unique. This place is definitely worth people’s time and is the perfect option for someone searching for a good burger joint.
