College Counselors talk applications with parents

This past week, the College Counseling department held two of its annual programs to discuss college with parents. The Senior Parent College Night, an event that has been in place for over ten years, gives parents a way to understand the college cycle. Discussions address questions common to senior parents, such as how one narrows a college list or concerns about the application process. A complementary Junior Parent College Night will be held next week. Also held last week was the College Counseling Coffee Chat, where parents, mostly of juniors and sophomores, discussed connecting with college representatives and making visits. The abundance of programs are “trying to address parents at different points in the process,” College Counselor Mary Hill said.
