Randolph Campus Library joins Inter-Library Loan system

As part of her rethinking of the use of the library, RC Librarian and former University of Minnesota employee Kate Brooks has set up an inter-library loan request system for the school. Students can head online and fill out a form to request a book or article from a wide variety of academic libraries. The books will be delivered to the SPA library, and most articles can be e-mailed directly to the student. Many of the books come from a University of Minnesota-based database known as Minitex. Brooks created the program to increase the number of research-type books available to students. “I knew that there was some kind of interlibrary loan system in place, but I thought that it could be made easier for students and faculty,” Brooks said. “Hopefully that does the trick.”
