Before the hockey season even begins, dedicated players such as Drew Blackmun and Cal Nicholson are ready for success. “For hockey so far this season we’ve started up with Captain’s practices on Wednesday s and Sundays, just to kind of get everybody back into the swing of things” said varsity captain Blackmun. With their season starting at the end of October, the hockey team looks ahead with high hopes for their future, “We got a young squad that’s looking to do well this season…looking to get pretty far in the sections.” Blackmun said. Indeed, this young Spartan team looks to rebound after a few weak years for what was once a very strong program. Yet devotion from the players and Athletic Director and former Spartan hockey star Peter Sawkins puts the Spartans in a good place to succeed.
