The SPA boys varsity tennis team delivered impressive home games during the 2025 Section 4A individual matches, securing both the singles and doubles titles and showcasing their roster’s depth.
9th grader Winston Arvidson captured the Section 4A singles championship, demonstrating remarkable poise and skill throughout the tournament. His victory not only highlights his individual talent but also sets a promising tone for the team’s future.
Additionally, David Schumacher also showcased his individual prowess by securing third place in the singles bracket, further emphasizing his significant contribution to the team’s overall success.
In the doubles competition, the senior duo of Jacob Colton and Ben Macedo clinched the championship, capping off their season on a high note. The duo’s chemistry was obvious reflecting their strong partnership and experience on the court. They had a standout performance that showed how much work they’ve put in individually over the years while also demonstrating the team’s versatility and depth.
SPA also swept the double bracket. Sophomore Isaak Senaratna and Junior Allan Wang made a notable achievement by finishing as runner-up in the doubles competition, battling against four other teams. Their run to the finals gives the team even more momentum heading in.
With a championship sweep and five players qualifying for the MSHSL State Tournament, SPA is heading into the final stretch of the season with confidence, depth, and serious hardware.
