Kate Lundquist dives into democracy

Kate Lundquist, a Bemidji State University graduate, is the Minnesota Deputy Director for the non-profit organization Vote Run Lead. Lundquist has worked on numerous political campaigns, some of the most noteworthy being State Representative Esther Agbaje and State Senator Clare Oumou Verbeten.

Lundquist had three main talking points: “what it means to have a reflective democracy, how it is achieved, and how students can be a part of the work.”

She shared the highlights of her experiences serving on specific campaigns. She urged students to research who represents their city and which elections are currently happening. Lundquist emphasizes the importance of being proactive regarding who represents your city and state.
