Election expectations & actualities

“I definitely thought it was going to be a mess, and I guess I didn’t really know how it was going to go. I’m very happy that Biden won. I think that it was definitely a good display of how chaotic our country is right now, because everyone’s acting like children. I watched it with my dad and it was, I don’t know, I’ve been trying to kind of, cut down on viewing news all the time because it gets very overwhelming and impacts negatively on my mental health. But I felt like it was something that we’re living through and it’s really important for our generation to be aware and like watch that and experience that because it’s a monumental thing. I think a lot of people think, like, this is super good, which it is, but we still have so much to do – we’re not even done. It’s exciting, it feels like a weight has been lifted, it’s exciting to see what’s going to happen in January, but I’m worried that havoc will be wreaked prior to then,” junior Lulu Priede said.

“I was sort of expecting Biden to win after the first night. With the early start, with Trump, and everybody was talking about the red mirage, so I expected it to go for Biden. It was kind of stressful, like not knowing, I had the SAT, so, it took even longer for me to get the news. I’m expecting Trump to pull some sly moves, try to cheat the time he has left. Once Biden gets into office he’ll have to undo what Trump has tried to lay down,” junior Dylan Zimmerman said.
