US Announcements: Congratulate the BVS team for defeating Academy of Holy Angels yesterday! (Specifically Ben Braman)

Lunch: Four Cheese Mac and Cheese, Buttered Corn, Stuffed Pork Loin with Garlic Cream, Chicken Noodle Soup, Waldorf Salad

1. The Book Fest committee was pleased to have several submissions this year for the Book Fest poster contest with the theme “Stories through Song”. The two winning posters will be be professionally printed and displayed throughout the school and at Common Good Books. Winners also receive a $25 credit towards books purchased at Book Fest, and two copies of their own poster. Runners-Up receive a $10 credit towards books purchased at Book Fest.

2. Attention Students: Be sure to check the tables in the Davern lobby today for any lost clothing items.

3. Dance Team Meeting: There will be a Dance team meeting on WEDNESDAY Oct 17 th in room 223 at 3:15pm, to meet the new dance team coach and talk about the upcoming season. Anyone interested in Dance team is welcome to come. Please let Mr. Sawkins know if you are interested but can’t attend this meeting.

4. The winners – Lucy Li, Kristen Datta, and Diane Huang – also receive a $25 credit towards books purchased at Book Fest, and two copies of their own poster. 5. The yearbook is looking for class pictures from the Lower School from fifth grade for the Then and Now /Lifer page. If anyone has copies of class pictures from the Lower School, please contact Ms. Brooks or Jonah Wang. Please bring in prints on Monday, October 22, or email scanned (300 pixels per inch) versions to [email protected] as soon as possible. Thanks!

6.Tonight, celebrate the beginning of MEA with a trip to the movies … in the Lecture Room at 6:00. Film Club’s lineup tonight includes a classic cartoon (“The Queen of Hearts” from early Mickey Mouse animator Ub Iwerks), a new chapter from the 1943 “Batman” serial, and our feature presentation, “Alice in Wonderland.” Don’t miss it!

7. FOR THE PSAT: Immediately after check-in, with sharpened pencils and calculator in hand (but no backpacks or laptops!), please report to the Gym. Extended time students will go to the small gym. All others, wait in the gym foyer – you will be seated by the proctors in small groups. The PSAT, including time for instructions and a break, generally lasts until about 11:20-11:30. Junior resume their class schedule during 4th period (for extended time students, during 5th period). Sophomores join their community service activities.

8. Senior Leaders of Student Organizations: We will meet together during X period in Room 233 (Big Harkness Room), This is a good opportunity for groups to evaluate how the year has started for our groups. Any questions, please see Dean Cummins.
