Laughter echoed through the school as the Upper School put on the first theater production of the year: The Madwoman of Chaillot.

Upper School welcomes french students from Blagnac, France

French exchange students arrived last Friday and will stay for a week and a half. They will go to the Mall of America, the Capital, ice skating and many more activities.
Students on the German (top) and French (bottom)  exchange trips during spring of 2015. St. Paul Academy and Summit School’s spring tourist trips to France and Germany have been cancelled due to instability in both countries relating to the Syrian Refugee Crisis and France recently declaring a state of emergency after the numerous attacks by ISIS. “The trips are meant to be fun… I don’t want terrorism to stop us from having this really good experience, however France declared a national state of emergency after the attacks… it just seems like asking for trouble,” Upper School French teacher Sophie Kerman said.

Heightened security in France and Germany could impede the ability of travelers to have a full educational experience; as a result the Language Department cancelled the spring trips.
Students going on the German Exchange pose for a photo during one of the tutorial sessions that were held for students to learn more about the trip.  “The most important thing for me is that I will end the trip with improved German speaking skills,“  senior Luke Bishop said.
