Community Service Spotlight: Hoppe returns to past experience for senior service

Senior Emilia Hoppe has volunteered at the annual Sanneh Foundation gala with her friends for over five years. “The Sanneh Foundation helps run the Conway Community Center in St. Paul where they provide free after-school care and dinner services. The program is a bit understaffed, so I will help keep the kids entertained and supervised,” Hoppe said.

The Varsity Nordic ski team bundles up after the rescheduled Mesabi Meet. “To make sure I don’t freeze I wear lots of warm layers, a buff, and a hat, and hand and toe warmers are a necessity,” junior Nordic skier Dina Moradian said.

Students for Social Justice organizes Winter Clothing Drive

Students for Social Justice set up boxes and racks in different parts of the school for students to drop off gently used winter clothing. Sophomore Emilia Hoppe, a member of SSJ, said “all of the clothing that we collect is going to go to the Neighborhood House, which is a place that among other things, helps out refugees.”
