[SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT] “Take and make” or “take and bake?” due focacceria does it both

March 11, 2021

due focacceria, a mere 0.2 miles from St. Paul Academy and Summit School, is the perfect place to try on your next coffee run. This is sophomore Clea Gaïtas Sur’s favorite small business near school.

I think that other students should start going there to get coffee to support small businesses instead of big chains like Caribou.

due focacceria offers “take and bake” meals that can be heated up after purchase. Requiring a bit more effort, they also offer “take and make” packages, where they sell the ingredients required to cook a pizza or other dishes but offer the opportunity to have fun assembling and cooking it at home.

“I really like [due focacceria] because they have a cute layout and they sell food and drinks,” said Gaïtas Sur.

In addition to their “take and bake” and “take and make” meals, due focacceria’s drinks include a range of coffee beverages, traditional Italian sodas, and chai. “I like to go there after school to get coffee because I think that their coffee is better than Caribou’s,” said Gaïtas Sur.

Gaïtas Sur’s family occasionally gets takeout from due focacceria. “They make great focaccia and tomato soup,” said Gaïtas Sur.

“I think that other students should start going there to get coffee to support small businesses instead of big chains like Caribou,” said Gaïtas Sur.
