Senior Cara Pomerantz uses Sencha as a study space. “I like Sencha it’s good,” Pomerantz said.

A great location, a relaxed atmosphere, and a very photogenic product are all things that apply to Sencha Tea Bar. Although there are locations all around the Twin Cities, there is no question the most popular location for St. Paul Academy and Summit School students is the Grand Ave. Sencha, a little over a mile away from the Randolph campus.

The menu has two main features: Sencha signature drinks and a more DIY options that allows customers to design their own drink. Signature drinks include the Thai Tea Latte, an orange colored sweet tea and a classic Amazon Chai Tea Latte among other things. Opting to create a drink is a fun option, that allows for creativity.

The first step is choosing the type of drink from 6 options. There is a flavored iced tea, tea latte, chai tea latte, cooler, shake, or chai shake. After choosing, the next decision is about flavors. There are over 25 flavors that can be mixed and matched, from Kumquat to Lavender. Finally, there are options in the “bubbles and more” category such as aloe jellies and tapioca bubbles. From this original drinks are made. Some favorites are: Raspberry Green Tea with Strawberry Jellies and Chai Tea Latte with Tapioca Bubbles.

Sencha’s popularity among SPA students is for a reason- with a convenient location and delicious drinks, it is a perfect way to unwind after a day at school.
