Rah’mn, located in St. Paul, puts a unique spin on classic ramen dinings.

The new restaurant Rah’mn puts a fun and creative spin on the traditional Asian dish. The possibilities are truly endless and slightly overwhelming, but plentiful nonetheless. Customers can choose from a wide variety of vegetables, like mushrooms, peas, edamame, corn, tomato and bamboo shoots. As well as vegetables there are proteins like beef, poached eggs, and tofu. There is a choice between dressings or broth, both of which have various options. This restaurant is similar to Chipotle in that the customer had full reign over their meal, and in this case, they choose everything that goes into their bowl except for the given: ramen noodles.

Lines have been seemingly long, some evenings out the door, which speaks to Rah’mn’s popularity, but unfortunately, makes the dining experience less pleasant. In addition to reaching the front of the line, the options are overwhelming. Not only are there many things to choose from, but it is difficult to imagine what would taste good together. It would take one if not several visits to decipher what tastes good and what ingredients compliment each other.

The new restaurant’s menu also features various options for different kinds of diets, there are delicious options for both vegetarian and vegan people. The broths are still very much savory and taste just as good with all chosen ingredients.

There are delicious options for both vegetarian and vegan people

Rah’mn is delicious when ingredients are chosen well and carefully. The price for a bowl of ramen is not too expensive, but a dollar is added to the price for every type of meat added. A bowl without meat costs $7.50.

For those interested in trying Rah’mn it is recommended to choose at least one protein, specifically tofu or beef. Vegetables that are a good starting spot for first-time customers are shitake mushrooms, edamame, corn, red onions and bamboo shoots. Though the menu features other things, the best option is the classic ramen with broth. For people looking for something new, the spring roll is fresh and its sauce is flavorful.
Rah’mn earns ⅘ stars because it is delicious, fresh and creative. It loses a star because it is difficult to ensure that what you order will be appealing to you and the service can be slow.
