RUNNING ON SCHEDULE. After warming up and preparing for the team’s run, the cross country runners set off in their designated groups to run a 5K following their scheduled practice regiment that day. During the season, cross country practices are either recovery days for the athletes or workout days. Sophomore August Kidder said, “My favorite of the two is workout days, and I particularly enjoy running our hill workouts on the hill near the lock and dam. My favorite drill in practice is strides because my muscles are not built for sprinting speed, so I always enjoy the opportunity to run fast besides the sake of competing.”
