New customized homepage suggestion

The Upper School Technology Department has set up an account on the web site Symbaloo for students to use. The Symbaloo platform was designed to streamline web use by creating a single, easy-to-use homepage with links to popular sites on it. St. Paul Academy and Summit School’s page is an amalgam of the most popular sites among students, including a set of academic resources as well as popular sports, recreation, and social network links. US Technology coordinator Chris White conducted surveys of popular websites among students in order to create the page. He designed it after he “was doing a lot of teaching kids, especially the freshmen, how to open several tabs and make them your homepage,” he said. “Students could make this one page their homepage.” He notes that students who wish can also set up a free account on the site and use that as a navigation board.
