The stack of books on the left, is junior Madeeha Rizvi’s manga collection. Rivzi purchases manga from conventions, such as Anime Detour, and book stores. “Its really exciting stuff,” said Rizvi.

Manga is Japanese graphic novels that are similar to comic books, but are more enticing to read because of the intense plots of the stories.

“It’s really exciting stuff” said junior Madeeha Rizvi.

Places that Rizvi visits often to buy manga include: Barnes and Noble, Half Price Books, Animinneapolis, Anime Detour. The last two are conventions that Rizvi regularly attends over summer and winter break

“When I go to buy manga, I consider 3 things. First, whether the reviews are good or not (and reviews for manga in general are always very good). Second, I look to see if the plot is good or not. Last, I look to see if the art is good or not. The art aspect is extremely important to me. The manga that I read like Inuyasha, Fruba, and Seifuku no kataomoi by Namida Usagi has this fluffy girly art in it that makes me want to buy it. I always go weak in the knees for stuff like that”.

  1. Naruto
  2. Fruits Basket
  3. InuYasha
  4. Kodocha
  5. Hana Kimi
