Hijab Day invites empathy
Muslim Student Alliance helps spread awareness of the Muslim-American experience
Approximately 40 students attended the information session during X-Period on Thursday.
Muslim Student Alliance, a new student group started this spring, hosted Hijab Day on Apr. 28. Over 40 female students covered their hair for the event, designed to foster an understanding about what it feels like to be Muslim in America. Students were asked to write down their feelings about wearing the hijab while being presented with the prompt “I feel…”. Here are a few of the responses:
