Girls Varsity Golf hits off a winning season

After a slow and snowy start to the season, the Girls Varsity Golf team is ready to begin hitting a successful season. Their first match, nearly a month after their season should have begun, got the season off to a good start. The team won by one point against DeLaSalle High School and by 17 points against Minnehaha Academy with a total of 244 points at the Highland National Golf Course. Unfortunately, the team lost their match the next Monday to Mounds Park Academy at the Goodrich Golf Course. The Girls Varsity Golf team has been a young team for the past few years, with the oldest members and captains Delaney Carter and Annette Vargas being only sophomores. Still, the team has many matches ahead, with the Conference Tournament on Tuesday, May 21. “We just want to improve overall as a team, and get more rounded golf skills,” varsity golfer freshman Cait Gibbons said. The team competed against Blake School at the Somerset Country Club on Tuesday, May 7.
