Students Against Destructive Decisions, in collaboration with Peer Helpers, hosted a presentation Oct. 13 on creating a culture of consent. However, this presentation is only the begging. As SADD president Janie Brunell said “Creating a culture of consent isn’t going to happen right away. Getting the conversation started is just the beginning.”
Following the assembly, SADD called students to action to wear ribbons and voice their support for fostering conversation around consent. Faculty and student alike lined up during tutorial on October 13th outside the dean’s office to get their teal ribbons and voice that creating a culture of consent is a process that may be hard but is absolutely necessary.
