With the recent passing of beloved pop star David Bowie, senior Alice Tibbetts remembers his legacy.
“David Bowie WAS pop. He was the avatar of glam, and the picture of androgynous.,” Tibbetts said.
Bowie has influenced so many artists by his style, music, or both.
“He left his fingerprint in nearly every form of music. Nearly everything heard on the radio owes some small debt to Bowie, I believe. He was the definition of ‘the next big thing,'” Tibbetts said.
Tibbetts enjoys Bowie’s attitude towards achievement because he was constantly reinventing himself.
“He proved that we can always start new and keep on creating ourselves. He showed us that it’s okay to dress the way you dress, act the way you act, and listen to whatever you want to listen. He will always be immortal to me,” Tibbetts said.
