From bonding during team sleepovers to improving their race times for a shot at state, the Girls Cross Country team has accomplished the best of both worlds. Not only are they a supportive and close-knit team, but they are also athletically improved since last year’s season.
“The girls team is stronger this year, and we’re trying to get to state,” sophomore runner Paige Indritz said.
“I believe we really have a chance to make it to state as a team this year if everyone puts in the work… Everyone, not just our varsity runners, is working super hard at practice and everyone is improving their times,” captain Emma Hills said.
In addition to putting in the hard work to improve, the girls team also leaves room to have fun, bond, and support each other.
“We are a very quirky group of people. People are really silly and it makes for a fun atmosphere. Everyone is very positive and we get along very well, so even though practices are really hard, there is never a dull moment,” Hills said.
