It's been 30 years since a team has won state debate two years in a row but that didn't stop this dynamic duo from breaking that streak.
Sophomore Nora Turner animates her drawings on her computer. “I haven’t had any official art classes except for one drawing class last semester. To practice, I draw all time in my notebooks, sketchbooks, and on the computer,” Turner said.

Most people don’t know sophomore Nora Turner is a self-taught artist and animator. She has been drawing for several years and now shares her work on social media.

Sophomore Isabel Dieperink combines her love of horses while volunteering at Lakeview Farm to teach children with anxiety or with an intellectual disability the joy of riding horses. I decided to apprentice with my horse trainer before I was volunteering so it was helpful to me to see and really be able to work with horses thoroughly to be able to understand their signals, and I could help teach the kids how to recognize that too, Dieperink said.

Artificial Intelligence has been around for half a century, yet we still debate what it might mean for the future. “I feel indifferent about the future of artificial intelligence because I feel like whatever is going to happen inevitable. All my reference points are from sci-fi movies and television shows and they all portray artificial intelligence as threatening and to be feared. I don’t know if the future will be that,” sophomore Nora Povejsil said.
