In their first section game, on Thursday night, the boys’ varsity basketball team defeated the Washington Technology Magnet School 82-50. The boys were met with tough competition in the first half and fell behind. However, despite the challenge, made their comeback after the first half.
Senior captain Ryan Moore fought valiantly in the third quarter, scoring point after point, breaking the opposing team’s defense. He finished the night with 30 points. Together in a team effort, the boys pulled ahead and led for the rest of the half. In the end, the Washington Technology Magnet School failed to catch the Spartans who cruised to a victory. The Spartan’s next game is on Saturday, Mar. 9th, at 2 p.m. when they take on the #3 ranked Cristo Rey Jesuit. The game will be played at Minneapolis Washburn High School.
