US Announcements: Senior Speeches Today Include Sarah Hays, Laura Dahl, Laura Goetz, Rachel Ketz

1. The NORDIC season begins Monday! Meet at 3:15 in the new NORDIC room in the bridge – follow the signs! Be sure to come to the Parents/Coaches/Skiers meeting tomorrow at 10am in the Lecture Room. Questions – see Ms. Scott or Mr. Steinhacker.

2. Today at Book Fest: William Cope Moyers, SPA parent and Vice President of Foundation Relations for Hazelden, continues his commitment to eliminating barriers that stand in the way of recovery and will sign his new book, Now What?: An Insider’s Guide to Addiction and Recovery, in the Summit Center from noon until 1:00pm. William will also be giving a talk to interested students and parents in the Lecture Room from 11:15 until noon.

3. ImPact Testing: This is the final testing date for ImPact baseline testing. If you are participating in basketball or hockey you are required to attend an ImPact testing. Please bring your computer and charger to the Lecture Room at 3:15 on Wednesday, November 1

4. If you fail to attend this testing date you will not be allowed to practice or play in games once your season starts.

5.Thank you to all the students who helped out at the Open House yesterday, George Stiffman, Chinaza Nwaneri, Mary Merrill, Ruth Sheldon, Chloe Hite, Milo Wittenberg, Luke Bishop, Calla Saunders, Noah Shavit-Lonstein, Asad Masood, Katie Brunnell, Maya Edstrom, Quinn Smith, and Neeti Kulkarni!

6.Fencing captains practices continue this week, 3:30 to 5:30 every day. Meet outside Mr. Brown’s office. Bring a water bottle, and come dressed to work out. We will be outside some days this week. All varsity fencers are expected to attend. Talk to Peter Driscoll, Francesco DiCaprio or Marie Siliciano if you are going to miss practice.

7. SENIOR LADIES IN ACADEMY CHORALE AND SUMMIT SINGERS! If you are free first hour today, please come and meet to rehearse your song for Pops! Mrs. Klus

8. Film Club will be screening Amy Heckerling’s comedy “Clueless,” in the Lecture Room next Wednesday night at 6:00. In honor of the event, PEP will be collecting any old, broken, or unwanted cell phones for recycling. Because you should never, never just throw away a used electronic device. That would be clueless.

9. SPA-HAMURG EXCHANGE: WE ARE MAKING TRAVEL PLANS! Please turn in your registration forms by Friday, Nov 9. Students who have not hosted, but would like to join the trip to Germany, please pick up a registration form. If you have any questions, stop by to see me. DANKE! Frau Crowder

10. JUNIORS have College Seminar on Tuesday. You’ll meet in a small group with your college counselor, in the College Counseling Office. Please see posted schedules for your assigned period (might be free period or language d-day). The schedule is different from the one used in September.
