Signs like these are commonplace around testing areas.

There’s no late start for juniors this week, as the PSATs are up and coming this Wednesday. The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (or PSAT for short), is a pre-SAT to prepare Juniors for their senior year academic testing. It’s also qualification for National Merit Scholarship ranking, a scholarship which greatly aids juniors in getting accepted to colleges of their choice if they score highly. The stress that it places on the 11th grade is evident, as Junior Riley Will said, “If it’s anything like our PSAT10 last year I am not too worried. But on the other hand I am a little worried because there’s a lot up for grabs”, referring to the fact that if scored well, the lucrative National Merit Scholarship is achievable. The PSATs will occur this year on 10/17/16 from 8 to 11 am in the small gym and lecture room on Randolph Campus.
