Along with her peers on the All-State Math Team, junior Bridget Keel traveled to California to compete on Nov. 6.
Locally in Minnesota, which had record-breaking droughts this summer, there have also been many large-scale wildfires around and in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) that left the area closed for the first time in 45 years.

On Aug. 15, the Greenwood Fire in the BWCA area was started by lightning. Since then, fires have continued to spread in the region.
It was incredibly tone deaf to flex her “simple luxury” of comfortably traveling with family and friends to a mystical private island and pretend like COVID-19 doesn’t exist, where many people have had family members die and cannot afford that same luxury.
