A bowl of Korean ramen. One of the most popular dishes at the new St. Paul restaurant, Tori Ramen.

Quick service, warm smiles, and hot bowls of soup, Tori Ramen is looking to revolutionize the ramen culture in the Twin Cities by offering a unique twist on the food. Tori Ramen is a newly opened restaurant located at 161 Victoria st. N, in St. Paul. It is a quick service restaurant specializing in pork-free ramen, that strives to have good customer service and high-quality food. Open Tuesday through Sunday, the owners decided upon a pork-free menu in order to provide great tasting ramen to all people and religions.

On a cold day in January, a trip down to Selby Avenue to try this new restaurant out was needed. Immediately noticed was the warmth of the place, as a welcome and smile was received by the host. The Korean Ramen looked most appealing, consisting of chashu (chicken), yu choy, kimchi, slow egg, chili oil, and a few other ingredients. Priced at $13 however, it is a bit pricier than your normal lunch for a high schooler of Chipotle or Noodles and Co.

Friendly staff, quick service, and unique food.

Tender pieces of chicken and wilted greens, mixed into a hot steaming oily bowl of broth and noodles was the perfect lunch for the cold day. Accompanied by a friendly staff, quick service, and unique food, Tori Ramen has a price range a bit higher than most high school students would be willing to pay for a lunch. However, it is a grand step-up from packaged $1 packs of ramen students eat for lunch on the weekends.
