Middle and Upper School jazz bands performed in the Huss Center Apr. 25 to a crowded auditorium. Much of the concert was similar last year’s, as there were once again music experts on stage showcasing their talents along with the students. Junior Ananya Narayan also returned onstage this year, to sing “Blue Moon,” written by Billie Holiday.

“[Bill Mason] approached me last year to sing at the band concert, and after I did that, he asked me to sing again this year,” she said.

Speaking to what “Blue Moon” meant to her, Narayan said, “the song is just really beautiful and it gives me a chance to show my lower range.”

This was Mayson’s last MS/US Jazz concert. He will retire at the end of the school year.
