Senior Emerson Egly winds up to throw home in a game against Providence Academy. Egly has over 30 strikeouts this year and leads the Spartans in RBI's.
The St. Paul Academy baseball team, The Spartans, continued their five game winning streak after a victory against Orono High School last Thursday. Although having a rocky start, the Spartans have found their groove in the past few weeks and have achieved a winning average of .588 for the season. Under the leadership of the head coach of over 40 years, Mike Brown (class of ’66), and assistant coaches Dominic Reed and Daren Straffelda, the Spartans have been having a great season. They hope to continue their success in the state sectionals next week after the completion of the Dick Traen Memorial Wooden Bat Tournament in Delano, MN this Saturday.
